UChicago Emergency Updates
In the event of an emergency, this space will be used to provide timely information to the University of Chicago community. It will be updated regularly as information becomes available.
The University of Chicago will also send out information through cAlert system, which is our electronic emergency mass notification system. Students, faculty, staff, postdoctoral researchers, other academic appointees, and other University affiliates are automatically enrolled to receive cAlerts. Non-affiliated community members can enroll in cAlert by texting “calert” to 226787 to receive emergency alerts from the University of Chicago’s Department of Safety and Security.
The cAlert will briefly describe the situation and provide safety guidance or instructions. We recommend you review these pre-defined cAlert instructions and what they mean.
