ComEd crews will work at two locations on campus this month. No power interruptions are scheduled. Starting Thursday, Dec. 8, crews will work in a parking lane at 60th and Dorchester. The work is expected to be complete by Dec. 30. In addition, on Monday, Dec. 19, ComEd trucks will occupy the parking lane in front of Blaine Hall. The University will welcome Lakeshore Recycling Systems, a new refuse and recycle vendor, onto campus this month. Campus community members may seen new blue refuse containers installed on campus this month, however, there should be no impacts to the campus community. Façade repairs and roof replacement began Monday, June 13 at Walker Museum and continue through Friday, Sept. 23. The work will be noisy and dusty. Working hours are 5:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Crews will renovate the restrooms at Snell and Hitchcock halls this summer. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday and is scheduled to be completed by Aug. 31.
The public is welcome to attend a 6 p.m. meeting on Thursday, Jan. 21 in conference room 141 in Saieh Hall. items for discussion include: project updates for 5730 S. Woodlawn and 5737 S. University Avenue.
Project activity is underway along 56th Street between Ellis and University Avenues to install the chilled water line. Please see the below updated graphic.
Update: the revised start date for the crane installation and project activity is now Monday, Nov. 23 . Preparations will begin at 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 23, for a crane installation along South Kimbark Avenue. The crane will be in place through Sunday, Nov. 29, to install structural steel to create a link between Judd Hall and University High School.
