Scheduled Database Maintenance: Complete
May 12, 2013 - The upgrade to our primary administrative database server is complete.
Scheduled Database Maintenance
May 11, 2013 - On Sunday, May 12 between midnight and 6 am, we will be performing an upgrade to our primary administrative database server. This necessary work will result in an outage of several administrative web applications for up to two hours. Several portlets in the University portal, my.Uchicago.edu, will also be unavailable. During the outage, a note will appear in place of these sites informing users that the site is undergoing maintenance. We will test these sites after the upgrade is complete.
Wireless Service Interruption
May 8, 2013 - At approximately 12:40 p.m. a hard drive failure on a wireless gateway device disrupted non-secure wireless (SSID: uchicago) on the North side of campus. ITS technicians were able to manually fail over to a redundant device and restore service by 12:55 p.m. Secure wireless (SSID: uchicago-secure), Eduroam, and the Guest network were unaffected.
Intercall Service Restored
Apr. 30, 2013 - As of 2:15 p.m., access to the Intercall audioconference service has been fully restored. If you are still seeing issues, please contact the ITS Service Desk at 2-5800. Recap of event: At approximately 1 p.m., the toll-free dial-up number to the University's audioconference vendor, Intercall, stopped working. Callers were unable to connect consistently via the toll-free number. As of 2:15 p.m. Intercall believes that the issue has been resolved; ITS's tests are validating this belief.
Problems with Intercall Audioconferences
Apr. 30, 2013 - As of 1:30 p.m., ITS is aware of problems dialing in to the Intercall service used by the University for audioconferences. Calls to the standard Intercall toll-free 866 number are not connecting consistently. If you cannot get through to the automated service, you can still call into the University conference bridge by the direct number, +1-281-319-9162. ITS is working with Intercall to restore normal service as soon as possible.
CTV Maintenance Complete
Apr. 22, 2013 - As of 9 p.m. the emergency maintenance on CTV is complete. CTV service to both wired internet connections and set-top boxes is fully restored.
Emergency CTV Maintenance
Apr. 22, 2013 - CTV will be unavailable beginning at 5 p.m. today for emergency maintenance to restore service to any set top boxes still experiencing access issues, and to prevent future service interruptions. We anticipate that the service will return to full functionality by 9:00 pm.
cTV issue ongoing; other services operating normally
Apr. 19, 2013 - As of 6 p.m., service to most cTV set-top boxes has been restored. IT Services will continue to work over the weekend to fully restore set-top box service. In the meantime, cTV continues to be available via a web browser from any computer using the wired network.
UPDATE: cTV Access Interruption in Housing and Quad Club
Apr. 19, 2013 - Although troubleshooting on Friday morning did restore service to some boxes, some guests and residents in International House, the Quad Club, and student housing are still unable to access cTV programming via television set top boxes. We are working over the weekend to restore this service as soon as possible. The cTV service continues to be available via a web browser from any computer using the wired network.
CTV Access Interruption in Housing and Quad Club
Apr. 17, 2013 - Some guests and residents in International House, the Quad Club, and student housing are currently unable to access CTV programming via television set top boxes. We are working with our vendor and data center personnel to restore this service as soon as possible. We expect that set top box service will be restored before noon on Friday, April 19th. The CTV service continues to be available via a web browser from any computer using the wired network.

58th & Ellis Updates
Please be aware Ellis Avenue will be closed from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 11 in relation to an ongoing construction project.
Steam Vault Urgent Repairs
Please be aware of urgent repairs to steam vaults beginning Monday, May 6 lasting through Friday, May 17 at three different locations on campus. The work will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.
Campus Soil Borings
Please be aware of soil borings being performed on the campus Tuesday, April 16.
Regenstein Ramp Installation
Please be aware crews will install an accessible ramp at Regenstein Library from Monday, April 22 through Friday, May 3.
Landscape Services Interim Relocation
Please be aware of interim relocation efforts for Facilities Services.
Midway Crossings - Light Cleaning
Please be aware crews are scheduled to clean the Midway Crossings lights (tall poles and ground level lighting) along Woodlawn Avenue and Ellis Avenue for up to four weeks beginning Monday, April 8.
William Eckhardt Research Center - Tower Crane Erection
Please be aware a tower crane will be erected at the William Eckhardt Research Center site from April 2 through April 5 to facilitate the start of construction of basement levels.
Sidewalk repairs along Woodlawn Avenue
Please be aware crews will conduct sidewalk repairs along a section of Woodlawn Avenue from Monday, April 1 through Saturday, April 6.
Cobb Gate paver work
Please be aware that work at Cobb Gate will be performed on Friday, March 29.
Sidewalk repairs along Ellis Avenue
Please be aware that work along Ellis Avenue will be performed on Monday, March 25 through Sunday, March 31.
