Program on Political Institutions

The Program on Political Institutions (PPI) focuses on the domestic and international institutions that create and implement public policy. Through the support of workshops, conferences, student training, and scholarship, PPI establishes an intellectual hub at the University of Chicago for faculty and graduate students who are interested in the political economy of institutions.  They offer such workshops as: American Politics Workshop; Political Economy Workshop; Program on International Politics, Economics, and Security Speaker Series (PIPES); Political Economy Lunch. The Program on Political Institutions provides two types of grants. Professionalization Grants are available to graduate students once per year, and are intended to help cover the costs of traveling to a professional conference. Graduate students and faculty working together on research concerning political institutions qualify for small grants of up to $2,500.
