Pozen Family Center for Human Rights

What are human rights?

How are human rights secured and protected?

At the University of Chicago, research and teaching in human rights integrate the exploration of core questions of human dignity with a critical examination of the institutions designed to promote and protect human rights in the contemporary world.

Since its founding in 1997, the Pozen Center has embraced an interdisciplinary approach to the complex human rights questions of our times.  We prepare the next generation of human rights scholars and leaders through an academic major in human rights and doctoral fellowships, grants, and lectureships.
