Kovler Diabetes Center
The University of Chicago Kovler Diabetes Center offers a patient-centered, science-based approach for managing insulin-dependent type-1 and complex type-2 diabetes.
Our multidisciplinary team works with patients and referring physicians to address all the challenges of diabetes, from hypertension and vascular problems, to foot conditions and kidney disease. We offer second opinions and ongoing treatment for people living with diabetes. The Kovler Diabetes Center is a leader in diabetes research, and is one of only seven designated National Institutes of Health Diabetes Research and Training Centers (DRTC) in the nation. The University of Chicago receives more NIH funding for diabetes and endocrinology research than any other Illinois hospital. They offer aggressive testing for diabetes-related heart disease, kidney disease, retinal disease, neuropathies, and other potential complications.
