Nuclear Reactions—1942: A Historic Breakthrough, An Uncertain Future
To help unify the diverse events that will commemorate the 75th anniversary of the first controlled, self-sustaining nuclear chain reaction, the Faculty Advisory Committee has chosen the name “Nuclear Reactions” and the tagline "1942: A Historic Breakthrough, An Uncertain Future."
The theme reflects the complex legacy of what transpired on December 2, 1942 as we seek to engage scientists, artists, policymakers, and others around a set of issues that continue to change our world in profound ways.
